Organic Huang Zhi Xiang (Gardenia Fragrance) Feng Huang Dan Cong Oolong 2026, 25g | Phoenix Mountain, Guangdong
Description
Huang Zhi Xiang (黄枝香), usually translated as "Gardenia Fragrance", is one of the classic aroma types of Feng Huang Dan Cong and one of the most widely grown on Phoenix Mountain. Its name refers to the scent of yellow gardenia, the note it is best known for.
Expect a bright floral aroma of gardenia and orange blossom, with honey sweetness and hints of stone fruit and citrus. In the cup it is typically lively and fragrant, with the long, sweet finish that makes Dan Cong so recognisable.
It comes from the same producer as our other Dan Congs, the best Dan Cong source we found out of about 30, with very clean teas and no bitterness. A great way to taste one of the defining Phoenix aroma types.
