Organic Lei Kou Chai Feng Huang Dan Cong Oolong Tea 2026, 25g | Phoenix Mountain, Guangdong
Description
Lei Kou Chai (雷扣柴) is a fairly rare Feng Huang Dan Cong from Phoenix Mountain in Guangdong. The cultivar's name is tied to the story of an old mother tree that was once struck by lightning. Offered loose in 25 g packs.
It makes an impression from the very first infusion. The aroma opens with bright florals, orchid and sweetness, then moves into mineral character and warm fruity notes.
The taste is rich yet very clean, and the long aftertaste keeps returning in waves, so each cup lingers well after the last sip. It holds up beautifully at higher temperatures, which bring out its mineral depth.
One of the most memorable Dan Congs we have tasted, and a great choice for anyone looking for something beyond the well-known aroma types.
