Description
A collectible ripe pu-erh cake from Dayi, pressed by the legendary Menghai Tea Factory and released in 2017 for the Year of the Rooster. Its name, Wang Fu (旺夫), is a traditional Chinese blessing wishing prosperity and good fortune brought to one's husband and family, which makes this 100 g cake a natural choice as a meaningful gift. Well-aged shu, made to be kept, gifted and enjoyed.
With close to a decade of age behind it, this is ripe pu-erh settled into its smooth, comfortable stride. The early pile-ferment edge has long faded, leaving a clean, deep cup led by notes of dark wood, dried jujube and a warm, caramel-like sweetness. The character is rounded and grounded, with the easy drinkability that comes from real rest.
The liquor is deep red-brown, thick and glossy, with a soft, silky texture that fills the mouth. Across infusions it holds its depth steadily, the sweetness opening further as the session goes on and trailing into a clean, mellow finish.
