Xing Ren Xiang (Almond Fragrance) Feng Huang Dan Cong Oolong Tea 2026, 25g | Phoenix Mountain, Guangdong
Description
Xing Ren Xiang (杏仁香), "Almond Fragrance", is a classic aroma type of Feng Huang Dan Cong from Phoenix Mountain in Chaozhou, Guangdong. It was the first tea of our latest selection session of 11 samples and the first Dan Cong of that round, and it set the bar high from the very start. Offered loose in 25 g packs.
The profile is beautifully layered. Almond and apricot kernel run through both aroma and taste, joined by gentle florals, a honey-like sweetness and a pleasant mineral finish. Gongfu brewing brings out its aroma, texture and long aftertaste especially well.
The producer deserves a special mention. The tea is very clean and carefully made from excellent leaf, and it keeps the true Dan Cong personality intact. This is exactly the level we look for in the TeaCha selection.
A refined, characterful Dan Cong for those who enjoy nutty, layered oolongs and want to explore beyond the most familiar floral styles.
