A ripe pu-erh from Dayi, pressed by the legendary Menghai Tea Factory in the traditional 357 g cake. 7592 is a classic recipe number, read the standard Dayi way: 75 marks the year the recipe was set (1975), the 9 the leaf grade, and the 2 the factory code for Menghai. This is the 2020 pressing, first batch of the year, now with a few comfortable years of age.

A sister recipe to the famous 7572, the 7592 is a benchmark Menghai shu in its own right. With around six years behind it, the early pile-ferment edge has settled, leaving a clean, deep cup led by notes of wood, dried dates and a warm natural sweetness, over the smooth earthy depth expected from a well-made ripe cake. The character is rounded, even and dependable.

The liquor is deep chestnut to red-brown, thick and glossy, with a soft texture that coats the mouth. Across infusions it stays stable and generous, holding its depth through many steeps while the sweetness opens further as the session goes on, trailing into a clean, mellow finish.
